KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan City has directed private (institutional) schools to distribute scholarships to students from marginalized groups, including those from poor, disabled, women, Dalit, indigenous, conflict-affected, and martyr families, by the first week of Jestha.
The Kathmandu Metropolitan City issued a notice on Tuesday, instructing the distribution of scholarships in accordance with the Compulsory and Free Education Act, 2075 and the Kathmandu Metropolitan Education Act, 2075.
According to the notice, private schools under the Kathmandu Metropolitan City are required to provide scholarships for students from grade 1 to grade 10, adhering to the provisions of the Compulsory and Free Education Act, 2075 and the Kathmandu Metropolitan Education Act, 2075.
The scholarships must be given to students from economically disadvantaged, disabled, women, Dalit, indigenous, conflict-affected, and martyr families on an inclusive basis.
