KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Weather Forecasting Division has stated that local and westerly winds are currently having a partial effect across the country.

At present, the hilly regions of Koshi and Gandaki provinces are experiencing partly cloudy conditions, while the rest of the country enjoys mostly clear skies.

These conditions are expected to persist into the afternoon, with a chance of light rainfall, thunder, and lightning in isolated areas of the hilly regions. Light snowfall is also possible in higher elevations of both provinces.

Similar weather is forecast for tonight, with partial cloudiness continuing in the hilly areas of Koshi and Gandaki, and mostly clear conditions elsewhere. Occasional light rain with thunder and lightning may still occur in some parts of the hills.

The Division has urged people to take appropriate precautions, as adverse weather could impact agriculture, daily routines, health, transportation, and flight operations.
