KATHMANDU: With the onset of the monsoon, heavy rains and landslides have disrupted road traffic across various parts of the country, blocking several major highways.

According to a statement issued by Nepal Police on Thursday morning, 11 major highways have been obstructed due to monsoon-induced floods and landslides.

The affected highways fall in districts including Dhankuta, Sindhupalchok, Kavrepalanchok, Chitwan, Nawalparasi, Myagdi, Gulmi, Jumla, and Doti.

Among these, six roads have been completely blocked, while five are operating partially with one-way traffic.
