KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Weather Forecasting Division has stated that Nepal is currently experiencing the combined effects of westerly and local winds, along with some influence from moisture-laden air originating from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea.
At present, most parts of the country are seeing partly to generally cloudy skies, with light rain occurring in some hilly areas.
By this afternoon, hilly regions are expected to remain mostly cloudy, while the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to mostly clear weather.
Light to moderate rainfall, along with thunder and lightning, is likely in some hilly areas—especially in Koshi and Sudurpaschim provinces—and in isolated locations elsewhere. A few spots in the high Himalayan region may also receive light rain or snow.
Tonight, the hilly regions will continue to experience partial cloud cover, while the rest of the country will remain mostly clear to partly cloudy. There remains a chance of light to moderate showers with thunder and lightning in a few hilly areas.
