KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has announced that Nepal is currently under the influence of westerly and local winds, with additional effects from moisture-rich air flowing in from the Arabian Sea.
The Division reports that hilly regions are experiencing partly to mostly cloudy conditions, while the rest of the country remains predominantly clear with some cloud cover.
Light rain has been observed in certain hilly areas, especially in Koshi, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.
By this afternoon, light rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, is expected in one or two locations in the hilly regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali.
Gusty winds are also anticipated in parts of the Terai areas of Madhes and Lumbini provinces.
Tonight, the weather in the hilly areas, including Koshi, will stay partly cloudy, with the rest of the country remaining mostly clear. Isolated light rain and thunderstorms are possible in the hilly areas of Koshi and Gandaki, while a few mountainous regions may experience light rain or snowfall.
