SURKHET: A fire erupted at the ongoing festival in Shree Nagar, Salyan, at midnight, causing the destruction of 80 stalls.
The festival, held at the commercial center of Srinagar, featured a total of 138 stalls of various kinds.
According to the festival organizing committee, the fire began around 11 pm last night and was contained by locals, the Nepali Army, and the police by 1 am.
The fire is estimated to have caused damages worth approximately Rs 100 million.
Initial police investigations suggest the fire may have been set intentionally by an unknown individual from outside the stalls.
The police are continuing to investigate the incident.
