NAWALPUR: The Narayanghat-Butwal section of the East-West Highway has been blocked again after Tuesday night’s rainfall washed away the newly constructed diversion.

The road, which had been obstructed all day yesterday following Monday’s flood washing away the diversion, had reopened for one-way traffic in the evening.

However, the flood on Tuesday night again swept away the diversion, completely blocking the road, informed District Police Office Information Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police Madhu Nepal.

Police have urged everyone not to travel via this route as the road is unlikely to open anytime soon. Although efforts are underway to repair the diversion and resume traffic, the unabated flow of the floodwaters is posing a challenge, Nepal stated.
