Bhjopur police arrested a youth from Ram Prasad Rai Rural Municipality-6 on charge of raping a 10-year-old girl on Wednesday afternoon.

The name of the 17-year-old accused has not been disclosed.

The accused took the child to Banamara Ghari, about 20 metres away from Aarikhola and Makhuwakhola, and raped the minor. Acting on a tip-off, security personnel deployed from the Manebhanjyang-based police office arrested the accused.

Further investigation is underway, informed the police.
