BUTWAL: The Daunne section of the East-West Highway, which had been blocked due to continuous rainfall on Friday night, has partially reopened to one-way traffic.
Transportation had come to a halt after the road caved in near Khursani Khola in Bardaghat Municipality–4.
The road was reopened one-way on Saturday after maintenance work was carried out.
The recently blacktopped road surface had peeled off, and approximately 8 meters of the road had collapsed.
Superintendent of Police Anupam Shrestha, chief of the District Police Office, informed that vehicles stranded at the site have started moving towards their destinations.
As the Daunne area is undergoing road expansion, travelers have been facing repeated disruptions, especially during rainfall.
