POKHARA: The Pokhara High Court has ordered the retrieval of the case file related to the Suryadarshan Cooperative fraud in which Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane is accused.

The order was issued today, Sunday, by a bench comprising Chief Judge Dr. Ratna Bahadur Bagchand and Judge Milan Kumar Rai after three consecutive days of hearings.

On Friday, Lamichhane’s legal team had raised objections, claiming that the hearing had proceeded without their knowledge. Following this, the bench decided to review the petitions on Sunday.

Earlier, on Poush 25, 2081 (January 9, 2025), the Kaski District Court, under the bench of Judge Nitiz Rai, had ordered Lamichhane’s release on a bail of Rs. 6.5 million. Both parties later appealed the decision at the Pokhara High Court, seeking its annulment.

Rabi Lamichhane had demanded his release on a regular date, while the government attorney insisted, he be kept in custody.
