KATHMANDU: Hitendra Dev Shakya, the Executive Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), has denied claims that recent power supply disruptions were linked to leadership changes.

Speaking at a press conference held at the NEA headquarters on Friday to address power outages in Kathmandu and other regions, Shakya clarified that the issues were purely weather-related.

He explained that similar disruptions have occurred in previous years between March and May, primarily due to seasonal changes.

Shakya added that while brief interruptions are common before the monsoon season due to wind and rain, the situation typically normalizes afterward.

He firmly stated that there were no other reasons behind the recent power outages.
