KATHMANDU: The Meteorological Forecasting Division has predicted rainfall in many parts of the country today, Wednesday.

According to the division, most areas will experience partly to generally cloudy skies. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is expected in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, with occasional showers possible in other areas as well.

There is also a chance of light rain or snowfall in some high-hilly and mountainous regions. Cloudy conditions are expected to persist through the evening in hilly areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces, while the rest of the country may see partly cloudy skies.

Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely in parts of Koshi, Madhesh, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces, with isolated rainfall possible elsewhere. Light snowfall or rain may also occur in high-altitude areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

Meteorologists say the current weather pattern is being driven by a combination of westerly and local winds, along with moisture-rich air from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea.
