KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has said that local and westerly wind systems are currently influencing Nepal’s weather.

At the moment, the weather is partly cloudy in the hilly regions of Koshi and Gandaki provinces, while the rest of the country enjoys mostly clear skies.

By this afternoon, hilly areas across the country, including Koshi, are expected to see partly to generally cloudy conditions, with the rest of Nepal remaining mostly clear to partly cloudy.

There is a chance of light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, in some parts of the hilly regions of Koshi and Gandaki, and at isolated spots in the hills of other provinces.

Light rainfall and snowfall are also possible in a few locations across the high hills and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.

Tonight, the weather in Koshi and Gandaki’s hilly regions will likely stay partly to mostly cloudy, while other parts of the country will experience clear to partly cloudy skies. Isolated areas in the hills of Koshi and Gandaki may see brief rain with thunder and lightning, and a few mountainous spots could receive light snowfall.
