KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated that current weather conditions across the country are mainly influenced by local wind systems.

At present, hilly areas in Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces are experiencing partly cloudy skies, while the rest of the country remains mostly clear. Light rainfall accompanied by lightning has been reported in a few areas within Gandaki province.

Temperatures are gradually climbing, with both daytime and nighttime temperatures on the rise across many regions.

By this afternoon, the weather in hilly regions of Koshi, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces is expected to range from partly to generally cloudy. Elsewhere, skies will likely remain mostly clear. There remains a chance of brief showers with lightning at isolated spots in the hilly parts of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali.

Meanwhile, rising temperatures are expected in many parts of the Terai, especially in Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Sudurpaschim, and Madhes provinces. The division has warned of a surge of hot air moving through parts of the Terai, contributing to increasing heat levels.
