Police in Janakpur district on Wednesday night arrested seven persons involved in gambling activity in Janakpur Sub-Metropolitan City-11. They were nabbed from Ramjatan Mandal’s residence.

Police identified one of the arrestees as Ram Sograth Yadav (30) of the same sub-metropolis while six others’ names have not been disclosed yet.

Acting on a tip-off, security personnel deployed from Janakpurdham-based Police Office nabbed them and seized stake money Rs 81,500 and a deck of playing cards from their possessions.

Further investigation into the case is underway, said the police.
