Police in Khotang district arrested six people on gambling offences from Diktel in Majuwagadhi Municipality-1 on Saturday evening. They were apprehended from Rewat Bishwokarma’s residence.

One of the arrested has been identified as Ganesh Bahadur Shankar (28), a resident of Majhuwagadhi Municipality while the names of the other five have not been disclosed.

Acting on a tip-off, security personnel deployed from the Khotang-based District Police Office (DPO) arrested them. They also recovered Rs 20,880 as stake money from their possession.

Further investigation into the case is underway, informed the DPO, Khotang.
