KATHMANDU: Teachers from various parts of the country are once again set to stage a protest in Kathmandu today, led by the Nepal Teachers Federation.
The demonstration follows yet another round of talks with the government on Tuesday night that ended without a resolution. Despite the lack of agreement, both parties described the discussions as constructive.
Federation President Laxmi Kishor Subedi affirmed that the movement would persist alongside continued negotiations. He urged teachers to maintain discipline and dignity by joining the protest at Maitighar Mandala at 11 AM.
Tuesday evening’s meeting, held from 8 PM to 10:30 PM, was led by Education Minister Raghuji Pant and attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel, as well as Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak.
Teachers have been on strike since Chaitra 20, and their protest in Kathmandu has disrupted teaching and learning activities in community schools across the country.
