Police arrested two youths in possession of five grams of Heroin in Mechinagar Municipality-6, Jhapa district, on Friday.

The arrested have been identified as Suman Danuwar (26) of Mechinagar and Samita Rai (21)of Damak Municipality-5 in the district.

Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of security personnel deployed from the Nakalbanda-based Area Police Office and Kakarbhitta-based Narcotics Bureau nabbed them while they were peddling the banned drug.

Meanwhile, police in Kanchanpur district also arrested a youth in possession of 10gm heroin in Bhimdatta Municipality-6, on Friday.

Police arrested Rakesh Auji (20) of Ethpur in Bhimdatta.

Acting on the information, a joint police team deployed from Sudurpaschim Province Police Office and Kanchanpur DPO held Auji with the narcotics.
