KATHMANDU: A Cabinet meeting is set for 5 PM today, with a decision likely on the ongoing protest by school teachers.

The Ministry of Education is preparing a proposal aimed at addressing the concerns raised by the teachers, who have been protesting in Kathmandu for the past 20 days under the leadership of the Nepal Teachers’ Federation.

The Ministry is set to present a 7-point plan to the Cabinet. If approved, the proposal could lead to an end to the protest.

Meanwhile, no progress has been made on appointing a new Governor for Nepal Rastra Bank. The Cabinet will make a decision once the recommendation committee, led by Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel, submits a list of three candidates. The post has remained vacant since Chaitra 25.
