KATHMANDU: The contempt of court case against Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Thapa has been scheduled for hearing today in the joint bench of Justices Sapana Pradhan Malla and Nityananda Pandey.
On Sunday, lawyers Anantaraj Luitel and two others filed the petition, accusing Thapa of contempt over his comments about the Supreme Court’s handling of the case related to appointments in constitutional bodies.
Last Thursday, Thapa criticized the Supreme Court for its delay in resolving the case concerning appointments in constitutional bodies. He alleged that the Court was engaging in compromises and bargaining regarding the matter.
