Court orders seven-day detention for Mishra and Prasai

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu District Court has granted a seven-day detention for senior vice chairman of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), Rabindra Mishra, and Durga Prasai, a key figure in the royalist movement, who were arrested in connection with the violent incident at Tinkune.

Mishra and Prasai, along with 24 others, were presented before the court on Sunday for the extension of their detention period.

The incident, which took place on the 15th of Chaitra (March 28), saw Mishra and Prasai leading a group that caused widespread destruction at Tinkune, Kathmandu.

The violence resulted in the death of two individuals, along with extensive damage to homes, businesses, and vehicles, including acts of arson and property vandalism.
