KATHMANDU: Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari is scheduled to visit northern neighbor China on May 24.
The week-long visit is being organized at the invitation of the Chinese government and the Communist Party of China (CPC).
During her stay, Bhandari is set to meet with senior leaders of the CPC.
According to sources, she is planning to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Qiang and Vice President Han Zheng.
The visit follows reports of escalating tensions between former President Bidya Bhandari and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli over her possible re-entry into UML politics.
