KATHMANDU: Lawmakers from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) once again obstructed parliamentary proceedings on Saturday, renewing their demand for a parliamentary probe committee to investigate the visit visa scandal.

RSP MP Sumana Shrestha, addressing the House session, said the obstruction was intended to raise the voices of Nepali citizens who have been trafficked abroad under the pretext of visit visas.

She stressed the urgency of justice for victims who were exploited due to official negligence.  Similarly, RPP lawmaker Roshan Karki demanded the immediate resignation of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, accusing him of political responsibility and failure to act in time to prevent the scandal.

Both parties have remained firm in their demand for an impartial investigation, pointing to the alleged misuse of visit visas and the suspected involvement or oversight by state authorities that enabled human trafficking on a large scale.
