HoR to deliberate key bills in today’s meeting

KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives (HoR) is set to convene today at the Federal Parliament Building in New Baneshwor, with a focus on several crucial legislative proposals. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.

Finance Committee Chair Santosh Chalise will present the committee’s report on the Customs Bill, 2081, while Bimala Subedi, Chair of the Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee, is scheduled to table the report on the Bill to Amend Some Nepal Acts, 2081.

Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Badri Prasad Pandey is expected to introduce the Nepal Air Services Authority Bill, 2081. In addition, Law Minister Ajay Kumar Chaurasia will propose that the Nepal Lawyers Council (Second Amendment) Bill, 2081 be forwarded to the relevant committee for clause-wise discussion.

Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel is also expected to present a motion for consideration of the National Assembly’s amendments to the Banking Offences and Punishments (Second Amendment) Bill, 2080, according to the Parliament Secretariat.
