Madhesh Province Cabinet reshuffled

MADHESH: Madhesh Province Chief Sumitra Subedi Bhandari has reshuffled the provincial Council of Ministers on Thursday upon the recommendation of Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh.

The reorganization was carried out under Article 168(9) of the Constitution of Nepal.

As part of the reshuffle, Saroj Kumar Yadav has been appointed Minister for Physical Infrastructure Development, Janardan Singh Kshetri as Minister for Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives, Basanta Kumar Kushwaha as Minister for Industry, Commerce and Tourism, and Rani Sharma Tiwari has been assigned the Ministry of Education and Culture.

Similarly, Rajkumar Lekhi has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Communication and Law, Shatrudhan Prasad Singh will head the Ministry of Health and Population, Sunil Kumar Yadav has taken over the Ministry of Finance, and Pramod Jaiswal has been appointed Minister for Sports and Social Welfare.

Sheshnarayan Yadav has been assigned the Ministry of Energy, Irrigation and Drinking Water, Kaushal Kishor Ray the Ministry of Labor and Transport, and Sanjay Kumar Yadav the Ministry of Forest and Environment.

The reshuffle comes after the Janamat Party recalled its ministers—Shakil Ali Miya (Industry, Commerce and Tourism) and Tribhuwan Sah (Forest and Environment). In their place, Kushwaha and Yadav have been appointed.

The newly appointed ministers—Basanta Kumar Kushwaha (Industry, Commerce and Tourism) and Sanjay Kumar Yadav (Forest and Environment)—were administered the oath of office and secrecy today by Province Chief Bhandari at a special function held at the Office of the Province Chief.
