The CPN-Maoist Center is in favor of making a woman the Vice President.

The Election Commission has issued a statement saying that since Ramchandra Paudel, who is a male, has been elected as the President, a person of a different gender or community can be a candidate for the post of Vice President.

The power partner parties have not come to a common opinion about this. However, the Maoist Center has said that since there is a male president, it would be better to have a female vice president.
