DAILEKH: Chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre) and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ stated that his party is neither focused on toppling the government nor on forming one.
Speaking at a public gathering in Dailekh under the “People’s Awakening Campaign (Mid-Hill Highway),” Dahal accused the government of moving in the wrong direction and dismantling the initiatives started by his party.
He mentioned that continuous warnings are being issued regarding these matters.
“We want to complete this campaign before the budget announcement and present the demands and necessities of the people here to the government,” Dahal said.
He added, “I have been urging the government to address the demands of the people in the Tarai, Mid-Hills, and Himalayan regions.”
Referring to the successful “Tarai-Madhes Awakening Campaign,” he expressed confidence that the Mid-Hill Highway campaign would also succeed.
Highlighting the historic role of the Maoist Centre in resolving the Madhes Movement and implementing the constitution, Dahal said efforts would be made to make the current government more people-oriented.
Dahal also shared that the proposal for the Mid-Hill Highway was initiated during his tenure as Prime Minister, considering the welfare of the people living in the Mid-Hills and Himalayan regions.
