KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress is holding an emergency meeting of its Central Working Committee today. According to Chief Secretary of the party office, Krishna Prasad Paudel, the meeting will take place at 8:30 AM at the party’s central office in Sanepa.
This meeting, originally scheduled for June 29, has now been rescheduled for today. Office bearers, central committee members, and invited members have been called to attend.
The emergency meeting was called to pass a condolence motion and discuss related matters following the demise of former NC lawmaker Dhundiraj Shastri on Monday.
Shastri’s mortal remains will be kept at the party’s central office from 9 to 11 AM on Thursday for tributes, after which a funeral procession will commence from the same location.
