The processions are marching from various places of the capital to take part in a protest rally being organised by the faction of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Madhav Kumar Nepal today.
The mass gathering will be addressed by the top leaders including chairmen duo Dahal and Nepal as per the statement issued by the faction’s Central Struggle Committee.
The processions led by various leaders are being taken out from Pulchowk, Tripureshwor, Maitighar, Keshar Mahal and Jamal.
Meanwhile, chairmen duo of the splinter faction of NCP, Dahal and Nepal have urged one and all to participate in the mass gathering through a video message.
Earlier, the group had organised rallies to enforce general strike throughout the country to protest the government’s move to dissolve the House of Representatives (HoR) and the appointment of chiefs and other members to the constitutional bodies, on February 4. At least 188 protesters were arrested from various parts of the country on the charges of enforcing general strike and halting or vandalising the vehicles that plied the road.
The following day, another faction of NCP (NCP) led by chairman and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had organised a mass gathering in Durbarmarga, Kathmandu where he declared that the country had geared up for holding election for fresh mandate.
