Newly appointed ministers sworn in

The newly appointed ministers in the newly formed government led by Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba have been sworn in.

President Bidhya Devi Bhandari administered the oath of office and secrecy amid a function organised at the Office of the President in Sheetal Niwas.

Today, 16 ministers and two State Ministers have been appointed from Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Centre), CPN (Unified Socialist), and Janata Samajbadi Party.

The ministers who were appointed to the Cabinet today have taken the oath of office and secrecy.

President Bidhya Devi Bhandari administered the oath of office and secrecy to the seven newly appointed ministers while Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly appointed state minister. The oath taking ceremony was held at the President House.

Prime Minister Oli has appointed Khagraj Adhikari as the Minister of Home Affairs while Nain Kala Thapa has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. Similarly, Narad Muni Rana has been appointed as Minister of Forests and Environment and Ganesh Pahadi as Minister of Federal Affairs and General Administration.

Meanwhile, Mohan Baniya has been appointed as minister to look after the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers. Similarly, Jwala Kumari Shah has been appointed as Minister of Agriculture and Livestock Development.

Prime Minister Oli has also appointed Raj Kishor Yadav from Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal as Minister of Industry, Commerce and Supplies.

Meanwhile, Asha BK has been appointed as State Minister of Forest and Environment.
