KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has challenged those accusing him of allowing brokers to gain access even to his bedroom to prove their claims.
Inaugurating the fourth national convention of the Madan Bhandari Foundation on Sunday, Prime Minister Oli said that tricksters, conspirators, and deceitful players in politics were shamelessly making such allegations.
On April 15, Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Thapa alleged that middlemen had gained access to the Prime Minister’s bedroom.
PM Oli also stated that the formation of a government with the participation of UML and Nepali Congress was a necessity of the time, and as stability, development, and good governance had begun to gain momentum, false accusations were being leveled against the government and leadership.
“Such opposition is being carried out with the help of lies, as if the government has done nothing. As if we are destroying the country, as if we are committing crimes,” Prime Minister Oli said.
“Nowadays, blue-colored jackals are making a lot of noise. Their real face will not last long. UML is determined to become the decisive national force through the upcoming elections. We will be established through our right ideas, honesty, and the politics of truth,” he added.
Referring to the rumors that the government would fall after Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba returned from Thailand, he said that those spreading such illusions must now be feeling as though cold water has been poured on their heads.
Speaking about internal party politics, Oli said there was no need to overly emphasize critical awareness and instead suggested maintaining analytical consciousness. “The party needs a sense of unity. We must counter the opposition’s accusations. Those who cannot fight the opposition but only harbor a critical attitude within the party are not on the right path,” he said.
