KATHMANDU: Former Prime Minister and Chairman of CPN (Maoist Centre), Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, has ruled out any possibility of unity with the CPN-UML before the 2084 B.S. (2027) general elections.
Speaking at a press conference organized by Press Center Nepal in Dadeldhura on Friday, Prachanda stated that unity with UML is not on the cards for now.
“We always wanted leftist unity; we even proposed it, and it happened too. But it was broken,” he said, adding, “We tried once more, but we were badly betrayed—not just the party but the people as well. That is why enough is enough. There is no possibility now, not even until the 2084 elections.”
He expressed concerns over the government’s “backward path” and dismantling of good governance, asserting that his party would continue to hold the government accountable for its actions.
