KATHMANDU: Leaders of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), including Chairman Rajendra Lingden, who were arrested for staging a protest inside Singha Durbar, have been released.

According to SP Apilraj Bohora of the District Police Range, Kathmandu, all individuals taken into custody have now been released.

Lingden, along with Vice Chair and Deputy Parliamentary Party Leader Buddhiman Tamang and Chief Whip Gyan Bahadur Shahi, was arrested on Sunday after demonstrating inside Singha Durbar.

The protest involved the distribution of pamphlets demanding the release of leaders detained following the violent protests on March 28.

The group, which also included RPP MPs Dipak Bahadur Singh and Bina Lama, had gathered at the RPP Parliamentary Party office for official business before launching the protest.

Despite being informed by police that the area was restricted, the leaders continued their demonstration, prompting police intervention.
