KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Sumana Shrestha said on Friday that her party was forced to boycott the House of Representatives session after being denied a chance to speak.
Speaking at a press conference following the walkout, Shrestha revealed that she had prepared a statement intended for Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. The message, she said, was meant to remind the Prime Minister—”the guardian of the nation”—of his responsibilities.
“We were not allowed to voice it inside the House, so we had no choice but to share it through the media,” Shrestha said, calling the denial of speaking rights an affront to democratic norms.
The RSP has been actively protesting in Parliament, demanding accountability in the visit visa scandal and the resignation of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak.
