KATHMANDU: During the House of Representatives session on Sunday, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmakers stood silently for over an hour, attentively listening as opposition members expressed their views on the budget.
However, when ruling party MP Arjun Narsingh KC started to speak, the RSP members immediately left the chamber.
Since Jestha 13 (May 27), RSP MPs have been disrupting parliamentary proceedings, demanding the resignation of the Home Minister involved in the scandal.
RSP spokesperson Manish Jha has described the boycott as a refusal to tolerate the arrogance of the ruling coalition’s two-thirds majority. Despite the RSP’s disruption, the Speaker has continued parliamentary business, disregarding the protests.
