KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court has declared the letter issued for the arrest of Resham Chaudhary as unofficial. After an internal investigation, the court sent a new directive to the prison administration and police, instructing them not to act on the previous letter.

“The letter was unauthorized and unofficial,” said Achyut Kuinkel, Deputy Registrar and Spokesperson for the Supreme Court, in a press release today. “Legal action has been initiated against the officer who issued it without approval.”

An internal review has been initiated to determine how the letter was issued. Following the court’s decision, Resham Chaudhary is set to be released today.
