KATHMANDU: Sumana Shrestha, a member of the House of Representatives, has resigned from the post of Joint General Secretary of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).

Shrestha had submitted her resignation to President Rabi Lamichhane on Chaitra 17 (March 30), but the matter came to light today.

According to her secretariat, she submitted her resignation letter to President Lamichhane, saying that there should be one person, one responsibility in the party.

During the conversation, she convinced the president that since the new generation is in favor of party transformation, there should be one person and one post, and submitted her resignation letter.

Shrestha is expected to submit her resignation during the party’s central committee meeting scheduled for 3 PM today.
