Talks with teachers resume; Govt spokesperson says resolution near

KATHMANDU: Minister for Communication and Information Technology and government spokesperson Prithvi Subba Gurung has said that negotiations between the protesting teachers and the government are nearing a conclusion.

Speaking to journalists following Monday’s Cabinet meeting, Gurung shared that the discussions between the Minister of Education and the president, vice president, and general secretary of the Nepal Teachers’ Federation had been positive.

Government school teachers have been protesting in Kathmandu for the last 27 days demanding the enactment of new School Education Bill.

Meanwhile, talks are currently underway between the Ministry of Education and the representatives of the teachers.
