Unified Socialist calls central committee meeting

KATHMANDU: The Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Socialists) has called for a central committee meeting in Kathmandu on February 20 and 21.

The meeting will discuss strengthening the party’s organization, reviewing the work done at the ward level, contemporary political issues, unity among leftist forces, and forming a front with like-minded parties.

The convention scheduled for February 10 has been rescheduled a few days later, informed Central Propaganda Department Chief Prakash Jwala.

The meeting will discuss the issues of constitutional amendment, corruption, and cooperation with opposition parties on issues related to people’s livelihood. It is said that the geographically focused responsibilities given to party leaders and work progress will be discussed.

The meeting will decide on the work progress of all mass organizations and the conventions of those organizations. Before the central committee meeting, the secretariat, standing committee, and politburo meetings will pass political reports, economic reports, and organizational reports. The other agenda and approval of the agenda of the Central Committee meeting will be decided by the Standing Committee meeting.
