KATHMANDU: The Unified Socialist Party will hold its Standing Committee and Politburo meetings on February 18 and 19.

These sessions will address current political matters, government ordinances, improving the party’s parliamentary performance, tackling corruption, and working with opposition parties on public welfare issues, as stated by General Secretary Ghanashyam Bhusal.

The agenda and schedule for the Central Committee meeting, set for February 20, will also be finalized.

Before the Central Committee gathering, the Secretariat, Standing Committee, and Politburo will review and approve political, economic, and organizational reports.

The Standing Committee will decide on additional agenda items and the work schedule for the Central Committee meeting.

Furthermore, the progress of the party’s mass organizations will be evaluated, and decisions will be made about upcoming conventions for those groups.

The meeting will also assess the party’s organizational structure and reorganization efforts at the grassroots level, along with assigning region-specific responsibilities to party leaders.

Additionally, discussions will include strengthening leftist unity and forming alliances with ideologically similar parties, as noted by Damodar Aryal, Deputy Head of the Publicity Department.
