KATHMANDU: The promotion committee meeting held on Tuesday recommends promotions to fill 11 vacant positions at the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the Nepal Police.

All the recommended promotions are made from the senior officers’ group only. The officers proposed for promotion include Sudarshan Koirala, Deepak Regmi, Dipendra Gharti Kshetri, Om Bahadur Rana, Madhav Prasad Shrestha, Dilip Singh Deuja, Binod Ghimire, Deepak Basnet, Jayaraj Sapkota, Surendra Gurung, and Sanjeev Sharma Das.

Among them, only Koirala and Regmi are from the Nepal Police cadre; the rest are deputed from the National Investigation Department (NID). Notably, Sharada Prasad Chaudhary, also from the NID group, is excluded from the promotion list.
