DELHI: In a covert operation carried out between January and March 2025, Delhi Police claim to have dismantled a network of ISI sleeper cells, arresting two Islamic State agents, including a person of Nepali origin, according to Asian News International.
Coordinated with central agencies, the operation reportedly led to the seizure of classified military documents from Ansarul Miya Ansari, the Nepali-origin suspect.
Both detainees were charged in May and are currently held in Tihar Jail.
Delhi Police claim that Ansari was apprehended while attempting to travel to Pakistan.
Authorities allege that Ansari was sent to India by the ISI with the task of creating a CD containing confidential documents to be sent to Pakistan.
Following his arrest, another individual was also taken into custody in Ranchi.
Sources further claim that Ansari, who previously worked as a cab driver in Qatar, met an ISI handler there and was later trained by senior ISI officials in Pakistan before being dispatched to Delhi via Nepal.
