KATHMANDU: A sub-inspector (SI) of Nepal Police has been found dead in Jhapa this morning. The deceased has been identified as 49-year-old SI Dhanraj Khatiwada, a resident of Temkemaiyung Rural Municipality, Bhojpur, and currently residing in Kanepokhari Rural Municipality-7, Morang District.

The dead body was found dead on the top floor of the three-storey barracks of the District Police Office, Jhapa, located in Bhadrapur Municipality-8, Jhapa. He was found hanging from an iron ladder leading to a water tank on the top floor.

It is said that preparations are being made for legal proceedings after informing the relatives of Khatiwada, who was found dead after hanging himself with a nylon rope. According to Jhapa Police, all of his family members have already reached the DPO and have accompanied the police team for the post-mortem examination.
