KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the wisdom, ideals, and peaceful path pursued by Gautam Buddha through deep spiritual practice are unmatched globally.
In a message of best wishes on the 2569th Buddha Jayanti, Deuba highlighted that Buddha, born on Nepali soil, has inspired the global community to follow a peaceful path toward prosperity and development.
He urged all to embrace the teachings of Buddha—an emblem of peace, tolerance, and harmony—not only in thought but also in speech and action.
Calling for the rejection of unrest, violence, and injustice, Deuba extended greetings to Buddhists and peace-loving individuals on the occasion of Buddha Jayanti.
He also conveyed his wishes to all Nepalis, at home and abroad, on the occasion of the Ubhauli festival observed by the Kirat community, known for its reverence for nature.
Marking the full moon day of Baisakh, Deuba expressed hope that the festival would bring abundant crops and that no one would face food shortages.
