KATHMANDU: The Nagdhunga–Naubise road section, a key entry point into the capital, will be closed for four and a half hours in the afternoon for construction work.
According to Kathmandu Chief District Officer Rishiram Tiwari, the road will be closed from 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM from May 24 to June 8. The closure is being carried out in coordination with the Kathmandu and Dhading district administrations.
Previously, construction activities were conducted during nighttime road closures. However, the project team has now requested daytime access, citing technical requirements for the ongoing construction of the Nagdhunga–Pipalamod road section.
“The project had initially proposed carrying out demolition work at night, but now they have stated that construction needs to be done during the day for technical reasons. Based on that, we have granted permission,” said CDO Tiwari.
The Narayangadh–Muglin Road Project (Eastern Section) issued a notice today informing that vehicles traveling from Kathmandu will be stopped at Nagdhunga, while those coming from Naubise will be stopped at Khanikhola.
Motorists have been advised to use alternative routes such as the Dharke–Sitapaila and Tokha–Chhahare–Trishuli–Galchhi roads during the closure period.
