One killed, six injured in Doti jeep accident

DOTI: One person has died and six others were injured in a jeep accident in Doti district.

The jeep, with registration number SupaPra 02001 Ja 0567, was en route from Dhangadhi to Purchaudi in Baitadi when it met with an accident on Tuesday night at Melkhola, located in ward no. 2 of Jorayal Rural Municipality along the Bhimdatta Highway in Doti.

According to Binod Sharma, Chief of the District Police Office, 45-year-old Harka Bahadur Negi lost his life in the accident. Negi, who was seriously injured, was declared dead by doctors at Maya Metro Hospital in Dhangadhi before treatment could be administered.

The injured have been identified as 27-year-old Dhirendra Negi, 44-year-old Jagadish Joshi, 53-year-old Ram Bahadur Negi, 65-year-old Dhana Negi, 28-year-old Bir Bahadur Negi, and 24-year-old driver Ashok Bam—all from Dilasaini Rural Municipality-4 in Baitadi.

Among the injured, the condition of 65-year-old Dhana Negi and driver Ashok Bam is reported to be critical.
