KATHMANDU: A 63-year-old patient, Chakra Bahadur Singh of Godavari Municipality–1, died after jumping from the fourth floor of Seti Provincial Hospital in Kailali on Tuesday afternoon.
According to hospital spokesperson Kishor Prasad Shrestha, Singh had been admitted to the hospital on Monday with kidney-related complications and was undergoing dialysis. After the procedure, he was moved to the medical ward for further treatment.
Singh’s wife, Ishwari Devi Singh, was with him at the hospital. He reportedly told her he’d be back shortly and left the room, only to leap from the hospital’s fourth floor a short while later.
He sustained severe injuries all over his body and succumbed while undergoing emergency treatment, Shrestha confirmed. The motive behind the jump remains unclear.
