KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) has launched its new publication entitled “RSS Photo Book: 16 Years of Democracy” on the occasion of its 64th anniversary here today.

Minister for Communications and Information Technology and the government Spokesperson, Prithvi Subba Gurung released the Book amidst the celebrations of the RSS Day at the RSS central office, Bhadrakali Plaza.

The publication features photographs from two consecutive exhibitions themed ‘Our Culture: Our Heritages’ and ‘Accomplishments of Democracy: Infrastructure for Prosperity’ organised by the RSS. These exhibitions were organized, marking Republic Day in 2080 and 2081 BS, respectively.

According to RSS Executive Chair Dharmendra Jha, the book serves as a counter to the “false narrative” that no significant development has occurred in Nepal since the establishment of a democratic republic.

According to Book Publication Subcommittee coordinator and RSS General Manager Siddha Raj Rai, the Book includes images used by RSS photo service, as well as courtesy clicks. “This is just a take-off,” he said, adding that the publication aims to demonstrate that constructive work is achievable through collective efforts.
