Chopper crash kills 7 in India’s Uttarakhand

UTTARAKHAND: Seven people have died in a helicopter crash in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand, India.

According to Indian media, the helicopter was returning from the Kedarnath temple when it crashed, killing all seven on board, including the pilot and a child.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that search and rescue teams have been deployed to the crash site.

Indian media reported that the helicopter was headed toward Gaurikund after the pilgrims had visited the Kedarnath shrine.

Initial investigations suggest that bad weather may have caused the crash. The helicopter belonged to Aryan Aviation Company.

According to the Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Authority, the passengers were from Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Gujarat.
