DELHI: Rekha Gupta is taking oath as the fourth woman Chief Minister after 27 years. The BJP has left no stone unturned in organizing the event to make this day memorable. The BJP announced her name as the Chief Minister on Wednesday night.
However, the preparations for the oath-taking had already started. Invitations were distributed without any names being given for the post of Chief Minister. In all, about 30,000 guests have been invited. From Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ordinary sanitation workers, the list of invitees includes people from all walks of life and all classes of society. Apart from this, thousands of ordinary workers and supporters will attend the oath-taking ceremony. To celebrate the victory after 27 years, the BJP wants to present the oath-taking ceremony in Delhi as a mega-show.
Not only the Prime Minister, but also all the Chief Ministers of all the BJP-ruled states of the country, including Union Ministers, all the party’s all-India office bearers will be present there. Several top industrialists, celebrities, and film stars have also been invited for the oath-taking. Gig workers, taxi and autorickshaw drivers, farmers and slum heads have been specially invited, as well as women, who are beneficiaries of BJP’s welfare schemes. Almost everyone, including Rekha Gupta, has already arrived.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to arrive at 12:30. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, party president JP Nadda and others will arrive before that. After Modi arrives, the national anthem will be played by the police band at 12:30. At 12:35, Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena administered the oath to the Chief Minister and the signing of new appointments took place.
